<p>FREE EVENT!  Friday, February 10 at 7 PM</p>
<p>You and your spouse are invited to a fun evening out! Come enjoy dessert and being together while engaging in a webcast presented by Focus on the Family. The webcast features speakers Greg &amp; Erin Smalley, musician Michael O’Brien, and comedian Jeff Allen. Invite your married friends of all ages to this light-hearted evening! <em>This is a <strong>FREE</strong> event and childcare will not be provided</em> so we are encouraging you and your spouse to get a babysitter and enjoy the whole evening together! Get dinner before, or grab coffee after!</p>
<h2>Other Announcements</h2>
<p><strong>Project Home Family Shelter 2012</strong></p>
<p>During the month of February, Hope will host and provide overnight shelter for families (approx. 30 people) temporarily without housing. The majority of the guests are single mothers and children. Each night, two shifts of volunteers are needed; evening and overnight hosts (a minimum of 120 volunteers are needed). This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity; adult volunteers are encouraged to bring their children with them. <p><strong>Kids and Project Home</strong></p>
<p>In an effort to connect kids with Project Home,  Sunday small group leaders are adopting a Project Home breakfast or a &#8220;Welcome Home Basket&#8221; to create during the month of February.  Leaders will be communicating with kids and parents.  What a great opportunity to walk alongside your child and teach them to serve.  Have fun!</p>
<p><strong><em>James</em> by Beth Moore</strong></p>
<p>Wednesdays starting February 1, 6:30-8 pm</p>
<p>Be inspired to put your faith into action in practical ways as you get to know both man and the Book of James. This 14-week study will explore concepts such as joy, hardship, faith, wisdom, single-mindedness, the tongue, humility, prayer, and more. Home preparations involved in this study. The cost of the book is $15. This group is led by Barb Olfelt, Cindy Schwartz, Cheryl Miller and Janine Ford. Meet in the Conference Room.</p>
<p><strong>Attention Women!</strong></p>
<p>Although it may be hard to believe, spring is just around the corner and that means the Women&#8217;s Spring Brunch will be here before you know it! On Saturday, April 14, come together with women of all ages and <em><strong>connect</strong></em>! We are excited to host this wonderful event but it takes preparation.  We are looking for women who have the gift of hospitality, enjoy decorating, are willing to promote and sell tickets, or are just excited about the brunch! There will be a meeting Monday, January 30 at 6:30 PM in the Conference Room for all those interested in helping with this event.  Questions? <p><strong>&#8216;Soup&#8217;er Bowl XII</strong></p>
<p>Are you ready for &#8216;Soup&#8217;er Bowl XII? It&#8217;s time for the twelfth annual drive, not to the goal line, but to fill the food shelves! Children in Preschool-5th grade will collect non-perishable food items for one more Sunday ( 2/5) in class.  Last year, The Family Place (Project Home) gratefully accepted 493 items; this year&#8217;s goal is 500!  The class with the most items per child will win a prize!  All are welcome to participate!</p>
<p><strong>Military Families</strong></p>
<p>Hope Church is compiling a list of those people in our congregation who are connected to the military so we can better support them.  If your spouse, parent, or child is in the military, please let us know by signing the Connection Card or emailing <a href="mailto:ngman@hopechurchoakdale">laurel.pangman@hopechurchoakdale</a>.com.</p>
<p><strong>Open Broomball Night</strong></p>
<p>Open broomball for Flood (9-12 grade), Flash (6-8 grade), friends and parents on Tuesdays from 6:30-9 pm. Hat, gloves, and jackets are required.</p>
