Cost of the Cross – Part 1 – March 10, 2012
Most celebrations are stand alone celebrations. They are not impacted by other days or events. Christmas stands alone. Thanksgiving stands alone. Not Easter! Easter is totally dependent on Good Friday. Without Good Friday there would not be Easter. Without the darkness of Good Friday, there would be no Light of Easter. If we didn’t have Good Friday, Easter would be unnecessary and irrelevant, in fact would not exist.
Easter is the celebration of someone who died and overcame death. Without that death, celebration of that “someone” would be unnecessary. In fact we believe that our appreciation and enthusiasm around Easter is dependent upon our appreciation and understanding of Good Friday. Get ready for the celebration by focusing on the One who is at the heart of Good Frida

Hidden in Plain Site – Part 2 – December 9, 2012
Sometimes we miss seeing things that are in plain sight. Something blocks our “view.” Maybe it is our preoccupation with something else. Maybe it is our lack of focus. Maybe it is a distraction. Zachariah, a little known player in the Christmas story, almost missed seeing the greatest event of his lifetime; even though it was in plain sight. We will spend a few weeks during month of December trying to learn from his experience so we don’t miss God’s gifts that are hidden in plain sight.
