Missions
Spreading the good news about Jesus world-wide has always been a high priority at Hope. We have sent a significant number of our own families as full-time missionaries overseas. Missions work is supported through a set percentage of giving.
Asia
Hope is heavily involved in a strategically important area of Asia. We support a handful of families who are developing local leaders. All of Hope’s overseas missions involvements are aimed at multiplication of efforts through training local leaders for future ministry.
Poland
Hope has been involved for many years in a couple of Poland’s cities by supporting families living there and by sending short-term teams. The number of evangelicals in Poland is currently very small.
Peru
Hope has supported four short-term teams, three of them youth teams, which have worked alongside a church in Lima, Peru. The teams have done construction, English classes and other outreach to the neighborhood and schools.
Congo
Hope’s newest missions endeavor is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Hope has joined a group of several U.S. churches which are partnering with the Congolese Evangelical Free Church (CECU) in the Ubangi area and the capital city, Kinshasa. Hope will provide much-needed ministry tools such as sewing machines as well as trainers and teachers of needed skills and knowledge. Also we encourage participation in GlobalFingerprints, the only orphan sponsorship program operating in the Congo. A vision team visited in 2008 to establish relationships with ministry leaders and to understand the challenges before the Congolese church.
Hope also supports some local evangelism ministries which are reaching out to seekers on a college campus and in business settings. Hope’s missions committee meets monthly. If you are interested in serving this way, please contact the church office. You can support missions at Hope through your giving, your prayers, and encouragement of our missionaries. Hope’s missions involvements are all for the purpose of spreading the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord, so that he is worshipped from Oakdale to the ends of the earth. We all have a part to play. What is yours?
